Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower 🍂

Autumn is near, let's create a few seasonal cards together....

First up, we'll create a collar card with photo design papers in warm autumn colors

Measurements and instructions

Card blank: 8-1/2 x 5-1/2

Card stock: 4 x 5-1/4

Design paper: 4 x 5-1/4

Circle punches: 2-1/2 and 2-3/8, or similar

Paper trimmer

Bone folder or paper creasing tool

Create your card blank by scoring your 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 card stock in half at 4-1/4 and folding on the left side.

When cutting your cardstock and coordinating design paper, see measurements listed above, consider using 12 x 12 cardstock and design paper to maximize your cuts. Also, where it applies, be mindful of pattern directions.

To create the collar, you will need your design paper and a paper trimmer. On your paper trimmer, mark the top ruler at 2-5/8 and the blade guide ruler at 2.

Holding the 5-1/4 edge across the top, slide your design paper on to the trimmer. The left edge of the paper should stop at 2-5/8. Close the blade guide. Slide the cutting blade down, stopping at 2. Remove paper and set the trimmer aside. Using your bone folder, fold the cut flaps back. Match up corners to keep the creases neat. Place dimensionals or foam strips under the flaps. You may also need a smidge of glue to keep flaps down.

Place the collar cut panel over the card stock panel without attaching. Estimate the space available for stamping a sentiment. Make light pencil marks as desired. Verify your sentiment will be visible through the collar fold and stamp. Remove pencil marks. Attach collar fold paper to the card stock panel.

Layer the circle punch elements and embellish. Use dimensionals, double-stacked, to adhere over the center point of the collar cut. Make sure circle embellishment does not block the sentiment.

Attach completed panel to card blank and add any final embellishments. Collar card is complete.

Card stock 8-1/2 x 5-1/2

Card stock 4 x 5-1/4

Card blank is card stock 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 scored at 4-1/4 and folded on the left

Inside:

Design paper (1) 6 x 4: fold in half

Design paper (1) 8-1/4 x 4: fold in half then again, each half in half,

opposite directions. Create a “W” shape with the three folds

Tunnel background: Adhere the 6 x 4 design paper to the inside-center of the card. Match seam to seam. Attach any die cut elements that will be inside the “tunnel.” Fold card and reopen to ensure proper placement of pieces.

8-1/4 x 4 design paper, folded in a “W” shape

Tunnel cover: Centering the circle punch on the folded half seam,

punch an opening into the center of the 8-1/4 x 4 paper. Attach the two outside flaps to the card, covering the background. Design paper (6 x 4), except for portion viewable through the tunnel. Center

seam of 8-1/4 x 4 paper should be parallel with center seam of card blank.

Fold card and reopen to ensure proper placement before adhering.

Attach additional die cut elements.

Front:

Panel1 cardstock: 4 x 5-1/4

Panel2 cardstock: 3 x 3-5/8 (frames white cardstock)

Panel3 white cardstock: 2-3/4 x 3-3/8; Stamp sentiment on this panel

Back:

Writing panel white cardstock: 4 x 5-1/4

Twinkle Tip^✧

When creating the tunnel feature inside the card, ensure that the center seams of the design papers are all parallel with the center seam on the card blank. This will help everything line up correctly despite different paper sizes.

Ink: Gray Granite, Lost Lagoon; Lost Lagoon marker (see 2023 New Core Colors markers or Subtles markers); Versamark

Circle punch: 2-3/8, or similar

Create your card blank by scoring your 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 card stock in half at

4-1/4 and folding on the left side.

Stamp deer image with gray ink. “Color” craft mat with Lost Lagoon marker. Spritz lightly with water. Use glitter brush to watercolor the stamped image. Keep coloring light, coloring the snow and tree lines. Remember on the trees, the artist has provided shading, so add your ink to the shaded side only.

Heat-emboss sentiment and punch into circle shape. Attach to your card and finish off with pearl embellishments.
